Festivals for the whole year
All major festivals and the 24 Ekadashis of the selected year in one list.
How this calendar works
Each day’s tithi is the tithi running at sunrise that day, as panchangs traditionally count it. So the tithi depends on sunrise in your city, and different cities can occasionally differ by a day.
- Festival rules: each festival is checked at the time of day the scriptures specify: pradosh (evening) for Diwali, Dhanteras and Holika Dahan, nishita (midnight) for Maha Shivratri, and madhyahna (midday) for Ram Navami and Ganesh Chaturthi.
- Month names: in Krishna paksha the month is named using the purnimanta system followed in North India. Gujarat, Maharashtra and South India use the amanta system, where Krishna paksha belongs to the previous month. Festival dates are the same in both.
- Adhik maas: in years with an extra (adhik) month, major festivals are not held in that month. The calendar labels it “Adhik”.

Why do Ekadashi dates differ between calendars?
