Useful tips

Photo size for exam forms

Most government forms (SSC, railway, bank, state exams) ask for a 20–50 KB photo and a 10–20 KB signature in JPG format. In the “Reduce size” tab, choose the KB and the pixel size, and the tool sets the quality so the file fits within the limit. Always follow the size given in the form’s notification.

Passport photo rules

An Indian passport photo is 3.5 × 4.5 cm with a white background, face looking straight ahead, eyes open, and preferably no glasses. The tool makes the photo at 300 DPI. A 4 × 6 inch sheet holds 8 photos, which any photo studio or print shop can print cheaply.

Your files stay safe

All these tools run inside your browser. Documents like Aadhaar, mark sheets or bank statements are never uploaded to a server, so you can use them without worry.

Frequently asked questions

My photo won’t go below 20 KB. What should I do?

Also choose a smaller pixel size (such as 200×230). It is hard to bring a very large photo down to 20 KB by quality alone, so the tool also shrinks the photo a little when needed.

Will a scanned PDF look as clean as a printer scan?

Take the photo straight from above in good light and choose the “Black & white” filter. Avoid shadows on the paper. The text then looks as clean as a printer scan.

Will iPhone HEIC photos work?

Yes in Safari. If HEIC does not open in another browser, choose “Most Compatible” (JPG) in the phone’s camera settings.
